Preparing for the Busiest Time of the Year 🎄🎁

Q4 is a major milestone for our industry, as it represents the busiest time of the year. In particular, the six to eight weeks leading up to Christmas are our most intense, and we’ll be shipping out a ton of last-minute special deliveries right up to the 23rd, ensuring they arrive by Christmas Eve.

We’ve already seen a noticeable uptick in orders, especially yesterday, which I assume is due to payday, with customers already starting their Christmas shopping and spreading the cost over the coming months.

There’s been some hopeful chatter in the warehouse that maybe people are getting more organised this year and that the rush won’t be quite as intense closer to Christmas. But we know how it goes—those last few weeks before the final posting date are always a whirlwind.

That’s why we’re here though, and we’ve planned ahead by bringing in extra staff to make this season run even more smoothly than last year.

We now have Arthur leading the warehouse as manager, with Darren assisting him to ensure goods come in and are processed quickly, so they’re ready to go back out and maximise your sales. During this period, James, Elleshia, Lauren, Caane & Kimberley will be managing picking and packing, with two additional team members joining to help with the picking and product assembly. We’re also recruiting another member for this part of the operation. Emily will be handling all communications along with Elleshia being hands on in the warehouse —they’ll be keeping an eye on WhatsApp and emails to make sure nothing is missed.

As for me, I’ll do my best to stay out of the weeds and avoid getting involved in the picking and packing—but knowing myself, I probably won’t be able to resist!

Our main focus is to ensure that your accounts are serviced to the highest standard and that your customers are happy with the service provided.

Even the main courier industries managerial staff get involved at the depots during this crazy time, and we’ll be stepping up as well. We’ve arranged a rotation so the team will be working weekends, both Saturdays and Sundays, to stay on top of orders and get everything out on time.

The team knows this is crunch time, and they’re ready to rise to the occasion. We’ll need your help, too—if you can, please provide us with your predictions based on last year’s stats so we can plan accordingly. Getting goods in as early as possible is also key, as it’ll help avoid those last-minute pallet and carton deliveries that need turning around during the rush.

I know I’ve mentioned the “C-word,” but given that I heard a Christmas ad a few weeks ago, I hope you’ll forgive me! With that said, keeping communication open is critical—especially if there’s any PR that could cause a surge in orders, product releases, or updates to delivery timings. The more prepared we are, the smoother things will go.

So please don’t hesitate to keep your team up to date with your sales and marketing or supply chain news on your dedicated WhatsApp channel and we will then be as prepared as we can be.

Here’s to a fantastic Q4!
